Key takeaways
- Saturday’s Pradera programme listed Interferencias, David Otero and DJ Sofía Cristo.
- Brunch Electronik was a separate ticketed 18+ outing at Caja Mágica.
- Teatro Real offered a seated alternative on both days.
The Opening Weekend Of San Isidro
For 9–10 May 2026, the strongest festival plan was a Pradera visit, with a separate indoor or market alternative if you preferred a different pace. The city programme ran 7–17 May.
Pradera: Traditional Madrid And Evening Music
The Pradera de San Isidro, near the Ermita on the Carabanchel side of the Manzanares, brings together food stalls, traditional dress, music and family activities.
The official main-stage programme listed:
- Saturday 9 May: Interferencias at 20:30, David Otero at 22:00 and DJ Sofía Cristo at 23:59.
- Sunday 10 May: Manuel Malou at 20:00 and Demarco Flamenco at 21:30.
For a first visit, go earlier if you want space to walk and eat; stay for a listed concert if music is the priority. Use Metro Marqués de Vadillo on Line 5 or a walking approach from Madrid Río. Crowds and festival restrictions make driving less convenient.
Chotis and traditional-group sessions offered another way into the festival. Use the official castizo-stage schedule for the session rather than assuming continuous demonstrations throughout the day.
Mercado De Motores: A Separate Delicias Plan
Mercado de Motores at the Museo del Ferrocarril, Paseo de las Delicias 61, offers stalls, food and music among the railway collection. Delicias on Metro Line 3 is the nearby station.
The earlier edition gave precise Saturday and Sunday closing times and a mandatory advance-ticket claim. A dated May source for those conditions was not recovered in this edit, so they have been removed. The organiser's current page describes a later edition and cannot establish the May schedule.
For a future visit, use the organiser's edition-specific ticket page rather than this archive.
Brunch Electronik: The Ticketed Music Option
The official Madrid tourism listing advertised the Spring Season at Caja Mágica, Camino de Perales 23:
- Saturday 9 May, 17:00–00:30: Dixon B2B Jimi Jules, Maceo Plex, JAMIIE and Lola Bozzano.
- Sunday 10 May, 16:00–23:00: Speedy J B2B FJAAK, Gerd Janson B2B Marcel Dettmann, Adiel B2B Quest and Luska B2B Emi Koto.
This was the 18+ ticketed option. Choose it as the main outing, with time for the walk from San Fermín-Orcasur on Line 3, entry checks and the journey home. Check the ticket conditions for ID and re-entry.
Teatro Real: A Seated Alternative
The Royal Swedish Ballet's Julieta y Romeo, choreographed by Mats Ek, was programmed at Teatro Real through 10 May. The venue lists Saturday performances at 17:00 and 21:00 and Sunday at 18:00.
The earlier “from €15” price was not retained as a verified historical tariff. A scheduled performance time also does not establish that seats remained available on the publication date.
Teatro Real is on Plaza de Isabel II, by Ópera. Its approximately two-hour-fifteen-minute running time made this a separate booking rather than a brief stop between festival venues.
Las Ventas: Optional And Separately Ticketed
The San Isidro bullfighting programme was separate from the free city-festival programme. Readers choosing it needed an event-specific ticket and seating choice; shade is a practical consideration.
Use the official dated Las Ventas programme for the corrida, participants and start time. Metro Ventas is on Lines 2 and 5. The tourism page now points towards a later fair, so it should not be treated as evidence of the May 10 details.
For a manageable weekend, pair one Pradera outing with one alternative that suits your interests. Keep the transport and entry conditions with that chosen plan.
Main tradeoffs
- Evening Pradera crowds can make movement slow.
- Caja Mágica requires time for entry and the journey home.
